Healing Chocolate Cravings
As my client Ted discovered, the only lasting cure for chocolate cravings comes from the inside out. This means fulfilling your need for love by treating yourself like you were the most special person in the world (which you are!). It means teaching your partner what you will and won’t accept in a relationship. It also means refusing to settle for a relationship that is abusive in any way.
Stay in love with your life by expanding the “butterfly feelings” in your stomach. Any time you start to feel unloved, go into a quiet space and completely focus on your gut. Look for the slightest inkling of a butterfly in your stomach; the feeling that you’re just about to open a wonderful present or like you’ve just won the lottery. Consciously expand that feeling, as if you are riding the butterfly feeling up into the air. Soon, your heart will feel soft and warm. You will experience identical feelings to being newly in love. These are the ones you are trying to reproduce by eating chocolate.
With practice, you will be able to remain in a state of romantic love all day, every day. By living in this state of love, you will be able to suppress your appetite; and your face, actions, and words will glow with happiness. You will also naturally attract loving people into your life.
Above all, say these affirmations to yourself over and over. You’ll get the most benefit by repeating them twice a day, every day, for one month:
AFFIRMATIONS FOR CHOCOLATE CRAVINGS
I deserve love.
I am love, and love shines through me.
I am full of love, through and through.
I am experiencing a state of bliss throughout my body.
I am lovable and loved, right this very moment.
I attract loving people into my life.
My friends are loving, giving, and considerate.
I deserve love just for being who I am.
I ask for what I need in my relationships.
I ask for, receive, and listen to, Divine guidance, with respect to my relationships.
In the next chapter, we’ll look at the different forms of chocoholism with the help of a quiz that will pinpoint the intensity of your chocolate cravings. By understanding why and how your cravings occur, you’ll be better equipped to overcome them.
